My parents have done online school with me for several years, but during high school, we started looking into different things. We ended up going with the 21st Century. It is the smallest school I have ever attended, and I went to a thriving public school when I was younger. They offered interesting courses and sold us on the idea of high academic performance. Along the way, I struggled with doing everything in an online-only format (it made retaining information harder, and I am someone who loves reading books.) Additionally, some of my teachers were helpful while others spent class time in lazy discussion. I picked up attitudes and it affected my performance. This school is all about just completing coursework and doing well on test scores. It does not offer a public school experience. Toward the last two years of my schooling, I feared whether I would be able to find employment and became bored. My goal all my life has been to go to college, but now I am not sure if it is possible for me. If you are someone who loves challenges and doesn't mind interacting with people, don't go with an all-online format. It will crush you. If you want to complete school as easily as possible, then go to this one.

We have been thrilled at 21st CCCS! The academic standards are high with a great variety in assignments that encourage out-of-the-box and critical thinking. The staff and teacher support has been perfect. My son is learning and excelling in this school. We also love the various activities and field trips throughout the year.

I was highly disappointed with my child's experience at this school. While we were promised the world, very few of those promises came to fruition. Some teachers are very kind and helpful, but we had a very negative experience with the student support manager who, despite his title, offered little in the way of actual support. My child was one who never struggled to get good grades and we thought we'd give this school a try as we'd heard it was more challenging and had "out of the box" thinking -- but I truly wish we'd never switched.
