School Reviews

As a 2nd year parent as AJMS I have observed our principal, Lisa Woo,and I have found her dedication to the needs of AJMS to be exemplary. She inherited several opportunities to enrich our academic, related arts and athletic programs, and challenges were also awaiting her when she arrived.I am impressed with her tenacity for problem solving. For instance with regard to our unsafe athletic track, Miss Woo has petitioned the County for assistance and until now her words seem to fall on deaf ears. We are unable to practice safely, and we are unable to host meets which would generate revenue to our school. Also the original bleachers from 1969 do not meet current safety code. Serious accidents have already occured because of the deplorable condition of the bleachers.Despite promises to replace the bleachers made by the decision makers for Kanawha County to solve this dilemma, the bleachers' replacement has been yet again put on the back burner. Miss Woo continues to advocate for our school.AJMS athletic opportunities are only one variable that a well rounded student deserves. Academics is the priority, however the consistent over sight of other needs is a challenge that must be addressed in a responsible way by the County Administrators. I commend Miss Woo for her efforts, and I have faith in the Kanawha County Administrators to initiate a solution to this problem.I salute Miss Woo for her efforts thus far, and we are especially proud that our school has been recognized as one of the best in the nation.GO MISS WOO!! GO STAFF!! PARENTS GET ON BOARD IF YOU AREN'T ALREADY! STUDENTS STAND PROUD and continue to keep AJMS on the map as a school worthy of pride!!
