My son and I LOVE Brookside Day School! It's been such a blessing for us to find this school in Kansas City. A girlfriend of mine, who knew I was researching schools in Kansas City for a 1st grader, suggested Brookside Day School and from the first encounter with the staff, I knew we would enjoy the switch of schools and it was going to be a good decision. Now, with 75 days of school left, I am certain this was a ggod choice for my son. My son's teacher (1st grade) is very helpful and is alwayas open and available to speak with me regarding my son's academics. Additionally, I have been able to volunteer at the school for all of the holiday parties and assist the teacher throughout the parties and connect with the kids. We have so much fun! The Chili Cook-off was a blast! It's always a good opportunity to visit with the parents, teachers and staff and fellowship with everyone there. We even won a certificate for a soup we brought! I think it is very imporant that I volunteer as a parent at my child's school and to get the know the teachers and staff. Developing a relationship has been very postitive for my son and I becasue we can work together to ensure my son's success in school, but also to become a part of the inclusive, family oriented community that Brookside exemplifies. My son loves Karate after school in the Extended Care program on Fridays. He wants to do more outside of school! The Extended Care Program has been excellent for my son and the variety of activities for the children to do, keeps them well occupied and having fun with their peers. I really enjoy the Brookside Day School. We will be enrolling for second grade and continuing with this school for my son's education in the Kansas City. MO area. There's no better school!
