I went to this school from Pre-K to 2nd grade and the years I went there im telling u it is a good school. The staff all adored me and they were lovely. I really miss that school. If I could go back in time and be a little Pre K child again, I would just so I can go to Burrus.

My daughter has attended Burrus since the first grade. Every year, for the past 4 years, I have watched her blossom and become more self-confident. She loves math and science and she enjoys her magnet classes, especially gymnastics. I have heard of parents being displeased with this school, but that is not the case for me and my child. Several changes have been made over the years and the teachers have high academic expectations. Take a tour, see for yourself. Don't take my word for it. Can't wait to see what the future holds for my daughter.

Of the faculty and staff I have met here, only half seem to be genuinely concerned for the wellbeing of the children. The other half, of whom I've met so far, seem more concerned with politics and personal agendas. I have received everything from empathy to an outright tongue-lashing by the head principal, with the AP standing right behind him in support of his behavior. Some faculty members seem to want to help and share information but are possibly too afraid to speak up for fear of retaliation for being a whistle blower. One thing is for sure, if your child attends this school especially, be involved and make sure the faculty, staff, and administrators see your face OFTEN and ASK QUESTIONS. The child without an advocate is the child that gets cheated and neglected. Unfortunately, that goes for most public schools in America these days.
