What school district is Chesapeake Bay Middle School part of?
I grew up in Pasadena, Maryland and went to Bodkin, CBMS, and CHS, the teachers and the administrators back then were patient, educated, capable, and nurturing. My education afforded me the ability to move on to a successful collegiate degree and into a rewarding career. WHAT HAPPENED CBMS, ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY SCHOOLS, and MARYLAND IN GENERAL? I am embarrassed to say that I sent my son to Bodkin and CBMS. After years of overzealous administration, red tape, rigid educators and limited success, my son has been withdrawn from this awful school and is now being successfully educated at home. Over the years, I have had the pleasure of meeting several teachers and administrators that I believe SHOULD be educating children, BUT that lot was gravely over shadowed by the plethora of employees that foster utter bureaucratic incompetence. I will not lay the blame at the in-school staff's feet, I believe it is explicitly the fault of the State wide school boards and lazy administrations that parasitically devolve the curriculum as well as remove a teacher's ability to foster imagination in children. I personally know several teachers that have left the school system for other careers due to the administration's lack of credible leadership and broken policies. To summarize this review. I like AACPS'' staff to pools of brilliance drowned out by a sea of incompetence. I learned that capability for using words as a freshman at CHS; I doubt the children attending those programs now will have the same access to great English instructors as I did. I am saddened and embarrassed for what AACPS has become.

We recently switched over to new classrooms that were just built. I swear, those poor teachers were treated so poorly during the whole experience and were given little to no time to pack and unpack their classrooms. Also, when we were moved, the air conditioning didn't work and the light switches were put on wrong. The bathrooms in the school are covered with horrible graffiti. The administrators Removed! They''re so mean to students. And, even though they shove the message of kindness down our throats every day, but when bullying happens, they do nothing. I don't think they realize how hard it is a student to speak up when you know that someone is being bullied, and I think they should start helping us with that. There are two reasons that I can enjoy attending this school. 1- I am blessed to have an amazing group of friends and have gone through middle school with minimal drama2- The teachers here are amazing. Despite being an underfunded public middle school, they make the best of the situation and have taught me not only how to be smart, but how to be a better person.
