School Reviews

The quality of the education in Cheshie is suppose to be exceptional. I have found it to be anything but. In particular the entire math department should be fired! They are just plain failing to teach math to their students. I have come across teachers and coaches who are just plain rude to the point that I would like to go to the admmistration regarding their behavior (anti-bullying policies should apply to teachers and staff as well as students!). Band is big in Cheshire. Both Jazz and Marching are supposedly excellent. There are a variety of sports to choose from, but it is really a matter of who you know and not how good you are in a few (but not all) sports. There are also numerous clubs to join, many are very good. Although the facade of the building is OK the inside is not up to standards of other schools that are in the same income bracket as Cheshire. Parents are involved (or overly involved, especially in sports!) I wish I had the money to send my children to private school, as I'm not impressed with the hype!!!

While the level of academic programs is high, along with availability of extra curricular activities, there has been a lack of attention to bullying and harrasment in this school system. By experience the faculty seems to be attentive to listening to an upset parent, but nieve to how inappropriate these kids actions have been. I was raised in this town adn it was the same when I grew up and now as a parent, even though my taxes go to Cheshire Schools, choose not to have my children attend them.
