What school district is Cross Timbers Elementary School part of?
My child has attended Cross Timbers Elementary four years and is reading two grade levels above her current grade. The principal, staff, students, PTO officers, and parent volunteers are totally committed to every student's achievement and well-being. My kiddo has been taught time management and organization since kindergarten which she incorporated into her daily routine naturally. I particularly appreciate this school because: (1) The library is open to all students the entire day; (2) Every child has PE 30 minutes daily; (3) Weekly classroom guidance lesson are taught by the counselor to all classes; (4) 60 minutes technology instruction is co-taught by computer "tech" and classroom teacher (my child made a power point for a book report); (5) In music class my child has learned how to read notes which is preparing her for band class in the future years; (6) Yearly field trips, field day, Career Day, musical programs, etc.; (7) Awards Assemblies celebrating student success and effort for grades, behavior, effort, and attendance. (8) The AR and AM program is fun and a great motivator even though a grade isn't taken but students learn to set their individual goal and my child felt a great sense of accomplishment which spurred her on to setting another reachable goal. Success breeds success. Previously learned math skills are constantly being practiced and reviewed with AM and my child doesn't fear the STAARS test as do her cousins in another school district.
Bullying is not tolerated at Cross Timbers because civility, tolerance of others, and manners are taught and practiced until internalized. This school's number one priority is Safety. Number two priority is Communication. When you telephone Cross Timbers, you get a real person, not an answering machine. I highly recommend this school without reservation.
