School Reviews
5   1/17/2015
My grandson (Black American) has attend Patterson High School since 2010 and has received a failing grade each semester. He's only missed 0-1 day per semester. In 2014, a year before graduation it was told that due to his failing that he would need to attend Del Puerto High School if he anticipated graduating. The computerized system allows for you to review his progress, but the system is not synced with all computers and is vague in relaying pertinent info to the parent. The classwork and homework is one and the same in some classes. There is a lack of communication to the parents as the staff feels they can better communicate with the student unless they need a parent signature. They created a "Prep" program that requires a lot of the parents time and attention, however, most are not aware of this. If the going get rough, the school ask the parents to ship them out to another school. Is it the child's personality, race or attitude? Are the teacher's only capable of teaching those that already understand the contents/elements of the classroom? I have other possibilities, but I will stop here.
