School Reviews
5   12/26/2017
I decided to write this in response to the last review written. The school no longer requires a strict dress code, and has never required three hours of homework a night. This school has multiple state-recognized clubs, many sports programs given its size (it will also allow you to play sports for the nearby East High School if you want a sport not offered), and is open to community feedback. The school has had 100% college acceptance since its founding in 2004. The class size reduction is due to students leaving because they didn't like the school; however, the school is unbelievably dedicated to working with students through any issues they may be facing, and teachers are more than willing to work with students if they need any help. The school does require around 2 weeks of summer school (half days) only for entering 9th graders who did not come from the middle school. Homework is reasonable, and as previously mentioned, will work with students if they need help. Finally, the senior project is a creative project that students come up with on their on with the goal of the student learning productively about an interest of theirs. The senior project requires 50 hours of work (estimated) over a two trimester period, which equates to about 4-5 months, meaning around 10 hours a month of work.

This school is extremely taxing on the student. The math and science classes are some of the most rigorous. However, this school does not allow students to balance these rigors with a 'normal' daily life. This school requires the students to: follow a strict dress code, go to summer classes the year before admittance, participate in a summer program, have at least three hours of homework a night, and complete a 'senior project' their final year. Not only does this school force the students to give up much of their time on and off campus but it restricts their creativity by allowing only one year of art and offering a very limited sports program. It should be noted that the first class to graduate did in fact get a 100% acceptance rate into college, however, that class was reduced from over 120 and twenty to a mere 76.
