I had a couple really great teachers, but I have serious issues with the school. I had sensory processing disorders that were never understood or dealt with properly while I was a student there. I felt that many teachers had a poor understanding of socio-economic advantages and privilege. For example, assigning outside projects and praising a student that used a video camera to do their project isn't taking into account that not all students have a certain technology at home. I had a 5th grade teacher that wanted us to watch the news, but I didn't have a TV. I think teachers should never assume that students have a certain technology at home, but instead, they should ask students to take a confidential survey at the beginning of the year to ask such questions.

I have a child in pre-k at e. a. Macalister elementary school. I am currently looking for a place to move with her so we can be on our own. Sherrill is apparently very expensive, so I am looking towards Vernon-Verona area.
