Extremely happy with the education at Fairview. They have many course offerings, and the AP and IB curriculums are both thorough and well done. I have 2 kids almost finished and just about all of their teachers along the way were excellent - thoughtful, helpful, caring, and intelligent. I am very glad we moved to this neighborhood for this school.

Academics are unmatched by any other public (and probably private) school in the area. The only down side is the current budget cuts which are causing classes to get bigger and teachers to get laid off. Music, art, sports, clubs, and other extracurriculars are easily accessible and extremely successful. The athletic program was overall best in the state this year, the arts program is under great direction and puts many talented students in the spotlight. Fairview is very good at recognizing great students and great student athletes. Every year, teachers nominate students that excel and present awards to them at the Knight of Excellence, including 10 Knights of the Round Table, students who go above and beyond making contributions in their school and the community. Facilities are good, a new wing was recently added with new classrooms, most rooms have been updated to be high tech with projectors and smart boards. Fairview always has many parents who are happy to help out the school in every way possible, which makes it possible for the school to be so amazing. However, because it is such a competitive academic environment, there are always several parents who find it their job to argue every B on their student's report card. In that department, parent involvement is FAR too high.
