This school is amazing has great disability help, but that goes away if you make it to 6th grade and up. Thought they did have great special education for the 2/3 of your time there I do not recommend it if you want to send your student there for the special education in the last three grades. Also, the school does not deal to well with bullying you have to speak up for it to be dealt with they will deal with it if they see it but they will not check something out that looks odd. Only if it is physically will they actually check it out. The teachers are also not very nice some are great teachers I must admit but they should deal with those teachers instead of just taking any available teachers. They are very slow to adapt to changes for example during the grade that I have had experience with that being at the time 7th grade they had absolutely NO online google meets or zoom meeting they gave you a YouTube video and told you to basically figure it out on your own. They were not responsible when they have a hybrid of online and in person learning and a lot of the teachers there caught COVID due to the lack of following proper protocol and the school then had to go back to online school for a while. Then you have another big problem the popular students like to leave out the less popular people and display a lack of empathy or even care for those students. They really couldn't care less about leaving them out and the teachers again turned care. Lastly I hope you have no life after school because they give you a stupid amount of homework and it is almost like they have expected you to have no things to do after school and want to give you busy work to keep you occupied so they can get their work done instead of teaching their students. The other grade do have these problems such as middle school 5th, 4th, 3rd and I am not going to make assumptions about the lower grades because I do not know what is going on over there. Greensboro Academy is such a great school. My daughter started in Kindergarten and is now in first grade, she is learning things that I learned in third grade... social studies, multiplication, geography, spelling and something that my schools never studied... moral focus. I love it! She is reading above her grade level and enjoys learning. The teachers are really dedicated to the children, and I love the dress code- uniforms. The school encourages parent involvement and you are welcome to volunteer in your child's class anytime. It's just been a positive experience for my child from the word go. You can't go wrong if you choose Greensboro Academy.
