As a former student and graduate I would say that my experience and education were exceptional. In the beginning, it was a horrible start. I was hanging with the wrong crowd and started to be a lot of trouble. My parents and the Principal of Grossmont did not give up on me and gave me another chance. All of my teachers were very supportive. As a freshman, I had a GPA of 2.5 and was an applied art student struggling in all subjects. Upon graduating my GPA was 3.8 and all classes my junior and senior year were college prep and was also elected to student government. Grossmont made me into the person I am today and made efforts to achieve my educational and career goals.

I just graduated from this school and i really loved it. By far it was the best school i have ever been to and i've tried different high schools, but this school truly is an awesome school to go to. Of course every school has there pros and cons, but no school is perfect! I recommend going to this school you will have an incredible experience. :)

Grossmont is a poor excuse for a high school. One of my kids commented about this school saying, Education is about power, not about teaching. This sums up Grossmont and the way it is run. The year after it was made Distinguished School honor, all the programs that gave it that honor were cut. So much for the students. The principal has her favorites, and the teachers use that style as well, for example in drama, sports, and ASB. It is NOT an environment that fosters achievement, but rather one that fosters favoritism, nepotism, and fear. Please go to a different school

Grossmont used to be a good school, but not anymore. It qualified to get a Distinguished School award from the State, but once that was achieved, all the programs that it used to get the honor were dropped. Standards have been lowered, and very few AP classes are offered.
