If you are looking for a great education and college prep, it's wonderful. The level of respect is above average, possibly because of the ROTC program. However, if your child is into sports, I would look elsewhere. This is a name school and it's all about who you know, not how your student plays. Of course if you have a nice checkbook, that may help. The majority of students are country and enjoy a rural way of living. They are great kids!

Highland High is a good school to attend. This School has wonderful academic programs. There is a nice selection of extracurricular activities to choose from for a small school. Highlands teachers push the students to do their best in everything. Whether it is a main course of study or an extracurricular activity, the students are encouraged to work their hardest and to try to be the best. The school is somewhat clean. There are some problems with the older bathrooms, and the old Locker rooms are dirty and not very well taken care of. There are not a whole lot of academic awards, but there are quit a few athletic. When it comes to sports, students are even pushed to compete against each other and beat their records. There are a lot of parents too busy to get involved in the school, but the ones who can, do get involved, and try in every to be apart of everything.

Highland Local Schools.... a great place to go to school.Excellent academic programs. Excellent sports programs. Excellent teachers for the most part. Need to come together as a community, more parent involvment needed. My husband and I are graduates, my two children are graduates and now five grandchildren are attending Highland Schools. Drugs and violence are miminal compared to most Ohio schools.
