I am a student at HCAS, and yes we have some issues but everyone is figuring it out. As of the principal leaving along with a few other people some students were very close with, that may have triggered some incidents. I personally love all the students that go to hill as we are very close. I have met the greatest people at heel, and they have really changed me of the better. I really love hill and I hope other kids will go here because I am a 7th grader this year and over the past 2 years I have made the best friends I could ever meet. I am personally close with the majority of my teachers and I love them all so much! They are always there and they are always there to talk. People say 7th is the worst year of middle school, but personally I liked it a lot. I wish we could have finished the year off in school instead of online. I personally recommend hill because your students will enjoy it. Yes, there is drama, but that just depends on the type of person you are because some of my friends have never been in drama this year which is really cool! Everyone at heel is super supportive. The sports team also bring everyone closer to each other. I was a part of the soccer team this year and last year. Everyone was super sweet and supportive.

I'm a mom of a middle schooler. We just moved to Denver a year ago and he was new to Hill Middle School, as he just started 6th grade this year. All year we have been dealing with my son being bullied by different kids in school. I want to make you very aware of what is happening. He has been teased for being a bigger kid. He has had students offer him a snack and then tell him they rubbed it in their pants once he took a bite. He has had a student push the chair out from under him in the auditorium. He has been pushed into walls and down stairs. I know about some of these issues, as I was witness to a couple of them. I have attempted to call the school, left messages, and even spoke to one staff member on one occasion. Nothing has been done. My son has told me he has filled out so many reports he is just tired of writing them. My son, who is only 11 years old, was overheard saying he was going to commit suicide. I sit here writing this to you broken hearted that my child feels this way. He said no one at the school would care or miss him if he did. He wasn't just talking about the students. He feels the teachers and all administration wouldn't care either. After almost an entire school year of this, with no help or anyone to talk to, this is how one of their students is feeling. In an age where bullying is so prevalent, I am befuddled at how this can go unnoticed even after the parent (me) has reached out.
