This is the worst school ever. Administration is horrible, they worry more about stopping kids joining the bathroom but not the safety of their students.

J.L. Mann high-school is not perfect by any means; however, relative to the other public high-schools in the area it is superior. J.L. Mann is an extremely competitive learning environment for a public 5A high-school. Compared to other local schools, Mann students have higher GPAs and at the top 10% of each class. A tenth of a GPA point can be the difference in being in the top ten and being 50th in the class. All high-schools have some bad teachers, but Mann has only a few. Besides academics there are also sports at Mann. Mann is a very competitive high-school at almost all sports with the exception being football. The football team had a perfect losing record in the 2018 fall season; however, most of the other sports teams either have state titles or are in the top couple in the state.

I went to a student orientation yesterday, and was told the drop-out rate was 75 % last year rather than the reported 96%. The school seems to be trying to do the best it can in a tough environment, which is too top-heavy with administrative costs. To improve drop-out rates, J. L. Mann has a program, the Power of M, to isolate incoming students who fail two or more courses with special after-school training, which includes transportation from school.
