I love this school. My child loves this school very much too. The school provides breakfast in the mornings if the students don't eat at home in the morning. They handle problems very nicely and the school teaches my children wonderfully. My daughter is a GATE Student and she gets thought the same as other students in her grade do and she also gets to learn advanced. The teachers are very nice and understanding. The school has about 6 teachers for each grade and many students can go into their grade that they are in. Furthermore, students are educated very well, and the school district has an after school program (aka Engage 360) for the parents who get out of work late, and parents can pick up their child at 5:30 and if u want to pick up your child early form the Engage 360. I get out of work late so I can pick up my two children from the Engage 360. As you can see, I would highly recommend parents, grandparents, etc. to sign up their child to Jim Thorpe Fundamental.

Worst experience having my child go to this school. Teacher is very rude and non communicative. Talking to principal does not help because they end up siding with teachers as opposed to listening to parent's concerns. Tried discussing a matter about my child and teacher had even hung phone up on me and spoke to me very disrespectfully. They do not treat each child as an individual and expect them to all be at same level. I understand that there are rules and they expect a certain standard but they take it to a whole other level. Regret putting my child here, thought we would be getting an excellent education because of school ratings but instead was an awful experience. I have also voiced my concerns to a few people and they have also heard from different friends that they also pulled their children out because of same problems. Would not recommend am sending my child to their home school.

through my experience thus far...teachers are fantastic...really caring and all about the kids getting a higher education. Homework is a bit out of control...we are talking hours of homework per day, K and up...but my child is learning so much its amazing.administration and supervisors are terrible...they single out students and parents who might 'stand out' and have ridiculous rules and put kids in trouble for really nothing...my child has been in trouble for and received white notes...the end all of everything with this school...for:1) not understanding spanish when spoken to in spanish by a supervisor ( i thought this was the US)
2) going into class 1 minute late when they changed the in class time for school beginning and did not inform the parents
3) fighting with others when he was only playing around
4) being picked up late when their traffic control system / staff is so bad it takes 45 minutes to pick up your kid and if you miss the deadline, kid is in trouble...
5) being walked to class after driving there and parking, actually i got yelled at personally on the phone by the vice principle for this one.other complaints are that the admin do not provide bathrooms within a legal distance for some of the children's classrooms and they do not provide water for free or for purchase at lunch time, only milk is provided which my child, happens to be allergic to. We have to send bottled water with him every day to school.there are more...i have gone back and forth about pulling my child from this school, the admin are a joke, even the teachers i have spoken to tell me the same thing...they (admin) lie about numbers so they can get state rewards, honors and fancy plaques to display, etc...this told to me by people who work there...that said, the teachers are tops...and my child despite the BS is getting a very great education from those who actually care about the kids, the teachers...but the admin is terrible.
