This school was terrible. The board that controls the district honestly doesn't care about the students at all. All they care about is their ranking in the state and the money. If you are thinking of sending your child here or if you are planning on attending this school yourself. Please don't.

The academics at LMK strive for mediocrity. The classes encompass children at all levels. There is no "tracking", pull-out or honors classes. Those who are slower and need more help can get that before and after school. Those who are ready to go ahead and learn more are left to stagnate in the classroom. There is no outlet for them to excel in any subject. The teachers seem to be too busy giving extra help to those who are falling behind to pay attention to those who want more challenging work. As there are no honors or pull out classes for these kids it is left for the classroom teacher to try to deal with. Although they proport to have packets in math, for example, for these children, they are rarely allowed time to do them. In addition, the teacher does not have time to review or teach from these packets, even when approached at the assigned extra help times before and after school. I do not believe this is a teacher problem...it is a systems problem at the school. These kids are being "left behind" as they are not being assisted or allowed to attain their potential.

This school has an outstanding academic program. My son was challenged and the teachers cared about his education. There are so many extra curricular activities - orchestra, chorus, service projects, strings band and all the sports starting in 7th Grade. The PTO meetings were heavily attended by caring parents and the Principal was accessible and in attendance at all the PTO meetings.
