School Reviews麻豆果冻传媒>5 11/24/2017I love maritime. I have been going here for four years now,and it is by far the best school I have ever been too. It is a great school with a great staff. The teachers are well picked and caring. My grades have reached a new high sense I have began going here. The principal is respectable and will do anything he can to help us students. As a student,I can honestly say that our principal will, and has always listen to us about any concerns we might have about anything going on around the school. Rather that might me grades, extra classes we might want to take, bullying or anything else. The teachers show just as much that they care and will always let us know if we have work we need to keep up on. Though I find troubles in one of the schools math classes personally, our math teacher stays for our after school program to help us study and always gives us a study guide a class prior to any test we may take. Along with this we are always given the opportunity to boost our math test by one letter grade by doing test corrections making it nearly impossible to fail. The teachers go out of there way to help us and make sure we are getting a proper education. I hope to continue to go maritime till I graduate. I have learned many new things from this school that I feel will help me with my after schooling life.5 2/13/2016My daughter has been going here for 3 years. While I've always liked this school... this year they've made some huge changes (2015-2016 year). The new principle, Mr. Lusk, is amazing with children! He has a strong background in special education and is also a marine. A lot of teachers are new this year and I have no complaints about the staff. This school allows parents to be as active in their child's education as possible. They allow parents to "shadow" the kids in their classrooms as often as you like... in fact, they encourage it! I have never found a school that allows this. The Maritime Academy has nothing to hide and welcomes students and their parents as a part of their family!
I also love that most of the staff has very strong military background and the school has an amazing lockdown security system... these days, protecting our kids is a real issue and I feel the safest place for my child to get her education is with this school. I've personally been there during a false-alarm lockdown, and I am blown away at the protective instincts the entire staff has for the children. Again, it helps that most of them are Navy, Marines, etc.
The vision that the principal has for this school will truly inspire you. It is a great school, and with this principal and staff, I have no doubt that this is the best school in the Toledo area.
One of the best parts of this school is you will get so many classes you'd never get anywhere else in Ohio! This is a maritime school. On top of your basic education... My daughter has learned how to scuba dive (in their own heated indoor pool) during gym. She has had lunch on their school's ship. She has been learning how to operate large ships, subs, etc. Learning to read sonar, weather patterns, etc. They have an 'on deck simulator room' which makes you feel and think that you're on a large vessel. It reminds me of Cedar point simulator rides. They teach Nautical science, nautical traditions, etc. Their classes are large with 10-15 in a room. They have intervention specialists to help students. A five star chef that makes real and healthy lunches. They teach self defense after school as well as swimming, arts, drama, culinary, sports and extra tutoring for free.
And incredibly they also have a classroom with online classes! Does your child want to learn Chinese? They will customize classes to fit your interests!
All of this and more wrapped up into one amazing school. We're so lucky to have found this hidden jewel in Toledo!!

Students must have the same teacher for 4 years in all subjects. This is a very unfair practice.
