This is a wonderful school with really amazing teachers. Middle school in particular is a challenging time for kids and MMS offers such a wide variety of classes, sports, clubs and programs that there is something for every student. No where is perfect, but I am really happy to have my child at MMS.

Not that many people will see this, but MMS has been good for me for the past 3 years. Graduating 8th grade in 2 months, and I'm about to move on from the school, and I gotta say I'm gonna miss a lot of things. The staff are loose and easy going, unless they have to go all restrictive-teacher mode on us. Really, no school is gonna be 100% perfect down to the wire, unless they're a private one or have a ton of cash. But this school isn't really about the, well, school, but more about how a kid can have fun and have a good 3 years of their life spent. If there are any problems, you could approach a staff member, such as the student counselor or even the secretary. I wouldn't be too harsh on this school, unless you're like a big critic or something and it's your job to make a spicy review. Anyway, I'm giving this 4 stars for the memories it's given me, and one star off because there are some problems with it, but I'm sure by the way things are looking to me, it can get better.

The academics and staff are of low quality. The staff show excessive favortism especially the principal. Here is an example: my child requires the use of glasses so that she can see what is written on the board. Her glasses got broken so she was with out them for about a week. In PE class she got up walked to the board so she could read it. The PE teacher yelled at her, sent her to the principal's office where she was suspended for 2 days. The reason that was given: "she was earsing the board". At a meeting when it came out what really happened she was not issed an apology from either staff member. Yet she was forced to write apology letters to them. There are other times that things such as this has happend.
According to the teachers homework doesn't count, it is just practice. Only the tests count. My child has been bullied by the staf as well as some of the other children. If at all possible send your child to different school. This school is a joke and needs to be restructured to fit the needs of all the students and the bad staff need to attend special classes or get the boot. Our kids deserve better.

This school is probably the worst school in Humbolt County. They have poor staff, to much homework, physical and mental bullying, and rude teachers. I was very exicited to attened this sk=chool but by the second year, it was like living hell. When I switched schools it was the best thing that ever happened to me. If your looking for good education and social fun, do not send your children to MMS!!
