School Reviews麻豆果冻传媒>5 4/25/2009Connor Creek Academy East is an excellent school and I am prooud that my children go there. The all day kindergarten program is exceptional with four separate kindergarten classes of fifteen students or less. The kindergarten program definitely out performs the local public school half day program. The teachers teach the kids about choices and encourage students to treat each other with respect. I regret that my older child didn't attend CCAE from the beginning. My older child got one on one help with a wonderful loving teacher's aide. She has been hired by the school to teach first grade now and she is excellent. The teachers are patience and accommodating. They care about their students and make sure that all kids feel included and involved. My older child needed speech and language services because he was developmentally delayed and the Lakeview public elementary school kindergarten teacher told told me my child "was retarded". She didn't include my child in group activities, but singled my child out to sit on the bench during recess. Here my older child sees a Speech and Language Therapist in a group setting twice a week. My husband compares our child to other second graders at church and says that our child speaks more clearly than peers now and behaves better than the rest of the kids with sitting still. That never would have happened at Lakeview, he would have been ostracised and pushed aside. Another item that I'm very impressed with is the Math circulum. They do multipication tables up to 5's now in April. They are finding points in space with ordered pairs, have been introduced to statistics, they do story problems involving the progression of time. They are learning about angles and adding and subtracting to the hundreds place. The kids love going to music, art, and spanish twice a week. They spend time using computers in the technology lab. All the teachers know all the students by first name. As far as the campus goes, a lot of classes are in modulars, but that's not a big deal to me. My husband wants to move to Grosse Pointe and I'd hate to leave the school.5 9/26/2007Relocating my child from Detroit Public Schools to Conner Creek Academy East has been a rewarding experience. The classroom size is much smaller which means that my child gets the individual attention he needs. i like that fact that even in the 7th grade, he has a choice in the elective that he will take. When my son was having problems in the 6th grade, his teacher would call me and discuss the issues. When my son was in DPS, no one ever called me to say that my son was not doing well in math until 3 weeks before school ended. I find the teachers really caring and the parents involved in the schools activities. Conner Creek's curriculum is challenging and demands a lot of study time. No school is perfect and there is definitely room for improvement, but Conner Creek has been great for my family.2 7/1/2007We have been attending Conner Creek Academy East for 4 years. I was really impressed with my childs school for the first 3 years. The teachers are dedicated and the communication between teachers and parents is excellent. There are always opportunities for parents to get involved with various school activities. One unique part of Conner Creek Academy East's academic program is that they have a Spanish program starting at Kindergarten. We have had a mostly positive experience here at CCAE. However as of this year I have seen a remarkable decline at this school. It seems to me that the administration does not really care about our school or the children. There are no consequences for kids that do not behave in class. We have a huge bullying problem at CCAE. I do not see respect for our school from a lot of children and their parents. We have teachers that are really trying to make Conner Creek a good place to learn and grow, however there are also staff that appears to be frustrated with how our school has become. It saddens me to see the decline here at Conner Creek Academy East. I want better for my kids. I want a safe, supportive, caring environment for my children to learn and grow. We are loosing more kids each year. Many families are leaving because of the overall poor enviroment here at Conner Creek Academy East. I wander how bad things will have to get before the administration decides to bring back our school to the level it once was. I am currently looking for a new school for my children and I know we are not the only family that is pulling their kids out of this school.Review Michigan Collegiate Elementary School.
