School Reviews

My experience with this school is frustration. My child is not doing well. I went to the district for alternative programs, and it was said that I have to see the counselor first. I had already done that, but then the counselor changed. I went to see the principal, and it seemed to be a burden. His body language was one of tiredness and kept looking at his watch. There was no attitude or reassurance of what can we do together to help this child. It was more, that my child will have these consequences, if these things continue. No hope to be given. I spoke with the new counselor 1 time, and she was helpful-the only problem was that there was no consistent follow up. The 2 emails that I have gotten from teachers has been negative with no encouraging words behind it. How can anybody survive without being encouraged once in a while? Not only students need to be encouraged, but teachers, parents, etc..I feel my child has no motivation to try an improve because no one takes an interest or gives an encouraging word. That little breath of don't give up, can possibly ignite a fire in a student. The negative body language or lack of encouragement makes me feel wanting to give up on the school system. I called the school to ask questions about Saturday school, and the response I got was wow, did you know that your child was doing this bad? This is serious. My thoughts were, gosh, didn't you already know that? Help! But, no offering of help, more of an overtone of judgement upon me, within seconds. Frustrating, again, I state please help, but to whom? Help my child to get involved, I will sit down with you personally, as well as my child.
