What school district is Pillow Elementary School part of?
This is my son's first year of school, and I am HIGHLY disappointed with the experience I've had with this school. My son's teacher fell ill shortly after the second semester had begun. She has been gone for well over a month now, we're actually coming up on two months out now. My son and a few others have been having issues adjusting to the massive disruption of their routine. They have had several different substitutes, days where they were just split down the middle and thrown into other classes, they didn't receive homework for the first three weeks of her absence, nor did the school do their part to keep parents informed as to what was going on. When they did finally send a letter home letting us know what was going on it was undated and said to call if we had any questions or concerns. I did just that, and I'm still waiting on my return phone call. My son recieved a report card during this period, but what was he even graded on? His teacher made no effort to attempt to contact the sub to give her the lesson plan for the day, week, or month. Fortunately the other teachers are finally helping out, but why did this go on for so long with such poor parental communication, etc. I feel that the way it was looked at was as long as the kids had a "sitter" that's all that mattered. I'm highly disappointed with this school that has such high expectations out of it's students. Shouldn't the same expectations be reciprocated? Just my opinion I suppose.
