School Reviews

The new building is new and the teachers are more than willing to work, communicate and help encourage our child to love to learn. The front staff and the parking situation is another story. Like the other review, The poor parking lot design and the amount of traffic makes it very difficult to park and pick up my child. You have to deal only two very narrow lanes going in and out. You can not get to the parking spots in the rear of the building because of parents from the carpool taking up both lanes with their big SUVs. The lane is not spacious enough to accommodate all cars to be in and out quickly. It is getting really bad awaiting for a parking space for almost 30mins with that traffics every day to pick up my small child. The front staff could be more friendly. When you come up and have questions, they act like you are been a nuisance and look at you like you are wasting their time. I have called and left messages and they are never returned. A smile, being courteous and being aware that you there in front of the front desk, makes a whole difference. It makes you feel welcomed.

Plato Academy is a small school where children and families get to know each other and feel like a community. The schools each build slowly so that growth is carefully calculated and planned for maximum success. My daughter has attended Plato Saint Petersburg for VPK and Kindergarten and is already reading at a 2nd Grade mid-year level. She can easily complete 1st and 2nd Grade math tasks. She reports loving school and cannot wait to go back every Monday. One of the very best things about Plato is the after school program where children can participate in clubs like Yoga, Chess, and Kickball, etc. The annual All Pro Dad's 4 day camping trip to Fort Wilderness unites all Plato families and campuses in a fun, unforgettable memory making experience to be unrivaled in community and spirit building. Friendships are easily made beyond the walls of the school. Strong academics and strong family engagement are a formula for success! If you enjoy a high level of communication from your child's teacher and feeling like a welcomed and valued member of the school community - Plato is for you! - Happy Parent

The new plato clearwater campus looks good except for the parking spots. They build big and try to grow bigger. Those are all good but they didn't think about the amount of traffics and poor design of the space. the location itself is not good only two lanes go in and out. all the cars has to go through one main gate and there is no enough parking spots and not spacious enough to accommodate all cars to be in and out quickly. It gets really painful dealing with that traffics every day.

Brand new big building for 2014-15 school year. No overcrowded anything. Same great family atmosphere. Opportunity to take high school level greek 1 and 2, and if you pass the Greek government language test, your college may award credit. Algebra 1 honors available. Other high school courses can be taken through Florida virtual school. My children have taken algebra, geometry, Spanish 1, 2 and 3, and guitar for high school credit through the Florida virtual school while at Plato. Bad teachers do not stay long. Good teachers are usually promoted quickly.

The elementary school is adequate but overcrowded. The middle school does not offer classes for serious college bound students and is overcrowded. There are many more classes of students than classrooms. Many parents feel that the school attempts to block parents and greatly limits parental communication. The school if fine for C students, but I would not recommend it for other students. There is a large turnover of teachers each year. The school does not have a library.
