School Reviews麻豆果冻传媒>4 8/26/2019The school has good programs Good drama program, music program ok. Teachers average. Some teachers lack classroom management. Bright kids attend. School getting a new gym & park, AC too. Some PTA is helpful. Some unapproachable they the years. Some good intentions looking to be helpful. Some years back had their hands out wanting this & that for their kids. PTA is better in the last few years more professionals lately. Several years ago some PTA unprofessional, complaining overstaffs head trying to overthrow policies & staff. Some were petty, aggressive & overstepped quite a bit ultimately unsuccessful but PTA better last few years. In the past several years ago Some PTA had obnoxious kids who were a distraction, not academically strong but some pushed for their kids to be in honors & got perks but being in honors turned out not be truly one of them. Some of these unfocused kids acted up &were not serious about school thought they cool comedians, gossiped, mocked others then when called on behavior their parents sided w kids & some were coached out of trouble. No wonder why some kids have self-limiting issues. Teachers should know to not recommend these types to honors it didn't serve them or anyone well, they come up short academically on math aptitude tests, etc, state tests, underperformed on some regents, poorly on AP classes & bad below the level on SAT. Should Keep honors honorably. It's not a show. So how can students like these pass career state tests later on to be a teacher, therapist, lawyer, physical therapists get a good job, more entitlements? Have kids earn their grades & conduct, paves the way to make their connections to get a good job& get into a good college, or are kids in this situation no facing mainly test-optional school? Handouts Didn't serve some them well in any way & some of those entitled kids sadly may have limited choices in picking a major & schools. Some teachers allowed chances for some kids to improve grades such as doing test corrections to get higher grades & appear like honors, were given school jobs, etc this doesn't seem to have helped have a foundation bc some of them can''t hold their own later on{below standards academically when it counts ex, SAT &. some don''t have a personality to match up in a true honors status}. Some were put into honor classes to the next school{s} some in PTA & others push for kids to be in honors knowing some kids struggled in some subjects & honors but teachers let them do test corrections to boost grade only transferred the same issues to next class & school. Some of these kids were failing tests, needed test corrections for an acceptable grade, some needed to cheat to pass, failed some regents, AP classes& did bad on SAT while bringing the class down from being talkative & petty. Sadly some of these kids may even have to apply to test-optional schools, evidence was not honors kids nor up to the task. Plus some these gassed up kids made school about them & lacked good character, jealous of authentic smart honors kids who were quiet, kind, kids who they competed with & had it in for & gossiped about, mocking the good true honors kids they could never be & these type kids don't click with true honors kids their not a match. Some were handed honors & acted entitled & disrespectful. When behavior called out some kids had typical bullish defensive reactions & their parents sided with them this .....kids didn't have introspection or corrective actions to learn from this thus later on some turned up unimpressive below academic aptitude''s results for future making limitations. Hopefully, teachers, these days don't accommodate parent pressure, bc kids like this some still went on to distract, still annoying, act out, about being cool , friend kids alike them, try to run the class & school ita's all about them & social & what ppl can do for them, what they like & were misplaced in honors lacking grades, character &lacking accountability {parents got together to explain their kids out of trouble, transparently inauthentic . So apparent these kids not up to the task with no accountability no need to be surprised if kids disrespectful back talking older kids. Education begins at home, set the stage early not an entitled stage, when the kid reaches mid-late teens they should already have a good starter job for a career not all about socializing, endless trips, events, hanging out & image on SM. Have them build their network & make their own money. Despite the history of fails give them a good chance to excel. It's ppl business because these kids are in our schools, communities, stores & ppl want positive contributing sound community members. Glad to hear 54 is a good school, good experience tries new programs so kids succeed. Other than ^^ misplacing average to low average kids to honors PS 54 a v good school better than other elementary schools.Review Ps/is 54. Reviews should be a few sentences in length.
