School Reviews

I think this school is wonderful. The teachers are very knowledgeable and very approachable. I have had two teachers go above and beyond for my daughter who is currently a 7th grader there with top grades. I have been able to reach her teachers by cellphone and email with fast responses. I was fortunate to have transferred my daughter there from a low performance school through a simple form that was mailed to my home asking to choose 3 schools that I would like to transfer her to. I have never seen that form again, and wonder if it was by luck that I received that form, nevertheless, I am grateful because my child has flourished at P.S./M.S. 280! I think the school alone isn't what creates a good environment but a combination of well behaved students along with well credentialed staff are needed to make it work. I have had two experiences with bullying but I was able to take care of it with up close monitoring of my own child, showing up at school at random hours, and talking with her teachers regularly, thankfully the issue went away. Again, my child had a lot to do with resolving her own situation with my guidance and advice "you don't have to like everybody, but you do have to deal with them very much like I deal with people at work I wouldn't otherwise mingle with outside of work" helped her. She currently is 'friendly' with the person that bullied her. It takes teamwork to build a good foundation within the schools and it starts with your children. I highly recommend this school! It's been to good to us!

This school is a very good school but the drama and bullying has got to stop and teachers needs to start caring and doing something about it. Yes they do their job and all but... there not doing a very good job. When i was in class all i saw was students whispering and fooling around.
