School Reviews

School is a solid elementary school. This is one of two elementary schools in the Lubbock Independent School District that is an International Baccalaureate World School. Parents can apply to have their students in the Spanish Immersion program where students learn to read, write and speak Spanish. There are regular English classes for students who are not selected or choose not to be in the Spanish Immersion program. All students will take Spanish and Mandarin classes. The school requires students to wear uniforms. I feel this is a good thing because it gives the school a private school feel to it. The classes have a good student to teacher ratio. The school is newer compared to other schools. It is clean and feels modern. The former principle was not very friendly and was known to have run off some quality teachers. The school has a new principle in 2019. She seems friendlier and appears to have good policies in place. Time will tell if she is an effective principle. Students from Ramirez will be able to transfer directly to Hutchinson Middle school, which is the premier middle school of Lubbock ISD.
