I have to say, Southern Regional High School is outstanding. Every experience I have had with teachers or other faculty has been professional and compassionate. My child is involved in Marching Band and has grown and thrived here with friendships, and academics. They are truly the envy of any high school within a 30-mile radius if not all of Ocean County and beyond. They offer so much for the students to get involved in and encourage participation to have an outstanding High School experience. If you don't take advantage of all the school has to offer, that's your fault. I have nothing but good things to say about this High School.

Southern regional does not take anything seriously, the administration care more about the scoring of the standardized testing then the overall terrible experience southern offers especially to the students who do not make them look better. Don't send your kids to southern.

I noticed that the reviews on this site were from 2008 and felt compeled to bring anyone reading, up to date.Southern Regional High School is the envy of Ocean County and a phenominal place to send your kids. The teachers and administration are second to none and everything they do is with the students' best interest in mind. There is something for everyone to get invoved in here and in addition to being a sports powerhouse and leader in the arts, the academic training provided here has placed recent graduates at Princeton, Stanford, Harvard,and Dartmouth. This is truly the greatest school in New Jersey. I can't say enough about the great teachers and academics and sports. In academics this is the best school in the county. In sports it is overall the strongest school in the shore conference. (the strongest conference in the state). This school is amazing! We have also won the Shoprite Cup which is awarded to 5 high schools in New Jersey (one in each division) with the best athletic programs in their division. Sorry it's soooo long but this isn't even the half of it.

This used to be a great school to send your kids, but it is in a major decline. So many great teachers retired because of the school atmosphere, and now all the teachers are extremely young, and are only there for a few years before they are dismissed or quit. The school is cutting many programs such as the ROTC program and many others, while they invest in athletics, that don't seem to prevail. It's sad to see this school at this all time low, and hopefully with a new superintendent Craig Henry, the school can improve. But I doubt it because of the politics involved in every aspect of this school.
