My son has been in Thunderbolt since kindergarten and is now a 3rd grader. He has had such great teachers and enjoyed all the extra cirriculars that the school offers. Parents are encouraged to be involved and they have gifted classes for those kids who need to be challenged. I hate that we have to leave.

I am very happy with my 3rd grader academic process and her teacher is fantastic. I am not however happy with the way the 5th grade is being taught. I do not like my daughter having to do worksheets on her own during classtime. I feel everything in the classroom should be discussed. I am very disappointed in the extra curricular activities. There are very few after school activities. Most are before school, which I cannot get my kids there at that time. I've noticed the only extra activities that come home in their weekly folders cost money and are run usually through the YMCA. The extra help offered to struggling kids in absolutely horrible and again the help is before school. If you are not failing then you don't receive extra help. I am spending 4400.00 which I took out a loan for to get the help my daughter needs through Sylvan. She has improved since she'sbeen going, but the next 4400.00 will be due soon and I really don't have it. I have tried going through the school channels to get her into some form of help, but they really don't care, as long as she does well on the FCAT.
