What school district is Timothy Elementary School part of?
Very, very impressed with the gifted/Spectrum program. Much higher percentage of gifted children than in other elementary schools in the county this year. Only school that I am aware of in Clarke County that also offers an Advanced Math class (open to the gifted students that have very high aptitude in math). Both gifted and regular teachers are fantastic - working to challenge all students individually. Beautiful new school facility. Very active Safe Routes to School program, and very high level of parent involvement. Administration open to new ideas, and excited about new programs introduced this year after the influx of new families with the rezone. Rezoning to neighborhood schools has been a very very good thing for Timothy.

Very high level of parental involvement after the recent rezone to neighborhood schools. Very active Safe Routes to School program - at least a third of students walk or bike to school on monthly "walk and roll" to school days.
Great Spectrum (gifted) program, including an Advanced Math class open to Spectrum kids who qualify (i.e., high math aptitude), which is not offered at other schools in the district.
Very active Accelerated Reader program, whereby children read eligible books and take a computerized quiz at the end of the book to earn points/prizes. Each child is tested and given an appropriate minimum reading level, to ensure that all children are reading to their potential. Reading is very strongly encouraged at Timothy. This program is not offered at most elementary schools in the district.
Brand new school opening December 2009.
