School Reviews麻豆果冻传媒>5 6/21/2010Tucker High School is very a good school. As a former student I can say the staff and administrators were very helpful with helping you pass high school. Tucker have a good administrator system that stays on top of discipline. Also Tucker has a wonderful sports program. The football team just came off a state championship and the same year the basketball team went to state. And as of right now Tucker is building a very exspensive state of the art school. This is just a great school.2 1/4/2010I am an alumna from THS, and all I can say is AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! If you like the Smoke Rise area, stay on the Gwinnett side of the county line so that your kids can go to a school that won't mess up their future. The administration manages to be authoritarian without actually dealing with any of the innumerable discipline problems going on, the counseling office is unhelpful at best and disrespectful to the students at worst (I once had a friend come to class in tears because the counselor told her she wasn't smart enough to make it into college--for the record, she now attends GSU) and most of the faculty are apathetic or too beaten-down by the horror of this school to struggle with the students anymore. The building is in shambles, roughly half of the classes are taught in dilapidated trailers and the student body at large is willfully ignorant, disrespectful, and disruptive. They did NOT make AYP in 2008 and if I know anything about that school they will continue to fall short in that regard. Yes, there are a few good teachers still holding out for their retirement, but the vast majority of them had already jumped ship before I graduated in 07. (I left a semester early to go to college, not because I am an overacheiver but because I couldn't stand the idea of spending any more time there.) If you are considering moving your kids into this school district, PLEASE reconsider because it will be absolutely no good for them. The ONLY good thing about Tucker was their football and basketball teams.Review Tucker High School. Reviews should be a few sentences in length. Please include any comments on:
- Quality of academic programs, teachers, and facilities
- Availability of music, art, sports and other extracurricular activities
