As a parent of two in the building and as a former student we chose to come into Flat Rock because of the high quality they provide in the field of education. Their teachers are dedicated, creative and innovative. They provide a well rounded education that includes art, music and gym. Through grant funding from Auto Alliance they offered extracurricular activities based on student interest and parent volunteers. Our son enjoyed those programs very much! They now offer assistance to students needing help with reading both before and after school.
The facilities are as well kept as they can be. The staff takes great pride in presenting a clean and neat building. The community is growing and there is limited space for growth. The voters agreed and there are plans to add new rooms to the facility very soon.
Parents are welcome to be as involved as they can be and have many opportunities to be in the classroom, on field trips, participate at home and become part of the parent organization. The parents help provide assemblies, help with RIF, provide a carnival for families in the fall and are in the implementation phase of creating a new playground for the k-2 children. I bring our children here through school of choice after reviewing five local schools, none held a candle to what Flat Rock has to offer!
