Newhart middle school is a relatively diverse school with amazing teachers and opportunities, but the school''s stem curriculum is very weak and the amount of stress they put on double elective students is insane. To be a double elective student, you must miss a regular class period to go to your second elective. But you have only 20 minutes to learn everything that the teacher thought in their 50 in class you missed during a time called PAWS. The worst part is, some teachers don't record or give you a list of activities done in class, so you have to try to figure out what the teacher thought as they help students from other class periods. Other than that, Newhart middle school is a great middle school that I would highly recommend.

Newhart is a great school. The teachers here are very helpful and kind, and while of course some are better than others, they all want to help the students. Usually homework is given out in math to practice the subject, and in other classes if you don't finish the work in class, which is helpful for students who have busy home lives. The students here are very kind and welcoming, in sixth grade I was in a seventh grade math class here, and the seventh graders were very kind. They treated me like I was one of them, while I feared they would avoid me at all costs. Most of the students have a great humor as well, which is very important. At Newhart there are a STEPS program for students with disabilities, and I've helped out there at PAWS (Panthers Are Wise Scholars) and the STEPS staff members are kind and patient with the kids. An elective known as STEPS TA gives students the chance to help out in the STEPS class as an elective, teaching them to be helpful and patient with others. PAWS is a period after 4th that I believe began in my sixth grade year, where students who get their agendas/planners stamped by teachers get help from these teachers to fix zeros, understand subjects better, complete projects, etc. Other students can choose an open classroom to go to for learning. The school is also very invested in preventing bullying. The Say Something Anonymous Reporting System lets students report things like bullying, drug use, violence, depression, etc. without revealing who they are. Say Something helps students feel able to report things and feel safer around their peers. I'm currently attending this school, and I'm so glad I am. It's such a great school, the students are free to make friends and socialize, but are still monitored by supervisors to make sure they are behaving. I like Newhart much better than my elementary school, and I really liked my elementary school. Newhart is a very fun, engaging, school, with a great learning environment. I'm proud to be a panther! Go panthers!
