School Reviews

Despite being ranked #5 in the country by US News, this school is honestly not as good as they claim they are. Harassment often goes under the radar, the students tend to be very bigoted (some are ESPECIALLY homophobic), students are allowed to chew gum (which leads to it getting everywhere but the trash can, wrappers all over the place, and annoying popping and smacking sounds during class), girls get blamed for being sexually harassed (it's always about their clothes), and physical fights in the hallway happen more than you'd think for a suburban school. The books in some of the classes are pretty dog-eared and many of those textbooks have actually had to be rebound from a combo of student carelessness and years of use. As a result, some textbooks in a few classes are horrendously outdated. Few foreign language options are available (plus the only French teacher in the school randomly quit a year or so ago). Teachers pile on so much assignments that it would drive even a parent crazy! It's almost as if they don't care that many students have after-school activities, are involved in sports, have a job, have other assignments from other classes, etc. Oh, and if your kid drives themselves to school? $100 for a parking spot for a semester, $200 for a spot for a whole school year. This might not be an issue for most families (as this is a middle-class town), but if you have low income, those prices are almost too much. Unless you win the school's yearly lottery for a free parking spot (and not many actually win this), well... yeah. In all seriousness, think twice before sending your kid here. While it does have some redeeming qualities (the after-school clubs available are just amazing in general, athletic program is great, the staff members who actually give a crap are great people, etc.), it's still not the best school.

I don't care what the graphs and other crap say, this school is the worst, the staff doesn't show any sympathy towards us students, they charge us for everything, the students there are disrespectful and unkind to teachers and students, and their rules are just plain RETARDED. I got suspended for being late one day and I quietly complained about this because it was unfair and uncalled for, but they didn't care and said that it was my own fault that I was late, never in my life have I ever had a suspension and this was my first and it didn't have no reason whatsoever to it! And I think that they should pay for their own debts and not force the students to do it. These students act up in class and bully other students, the staff might say that they'll help any bullied person but they don't do jack! I recommend not to let your children be at this school, it'll be the worse mistake you will ever make.
