What school district is Houston County High School part of?
I love this school!!! Despite what other parents may say, I know from experience you get what you give. All of the teachers I have dealt with answer emails in a prompt manner, transition well with single military parents(such as myself), the attendance office is on point and its part of a strict but freedom to learn your way environment. It is a High School, you know the school right before college, so I do not expect children to be babysat in order to do their work. They have the technical college right behind them and several other major Georgia colleges within 20 miles of the school that allows the students to obtain college credits while still in high school. There are ample opportunities for parents to be involved and track their students progress along the way. I think the teachers are very knowledgeable and are doing what they do best, teach.

The school is overall good as far as teaching goes anyways. Most teachers are excellent and teach the kids very thoroughly. The food is good too, so that's a plus. However, like every school it has its issues. Examples include too small of hallways and everyone trying to go through one door, which as teenagers, they will move extra slow. Another thing, men are not allowed to wear earrings which means yes they are still a couple of steps back socially. Also parking is not free and they have "no spots" available. When I say no spots I mean if you ask for a parking pass and they say no, they mean there is no more spots in student parking lot, but there is plenty in teacher and visitor and I mean PLENTY. The teachers are good but the deans and discipline people tend to over exert their power just because "they can", and even if you have a good point to bring up to them that makes logical sense they will say you're arguing because they don't want to be wrong.

This High school should not even be included in the word school. The Teachers don't know how to teach. There meathod of teaching is handing out worksheets and for students to teach themself. They have money for sports but not when it comes to buying books for education purpose. Parents try to communicate with teachers and but you get no response from teachers. This school doest not care of students sucess.
