School Reviews

My name is Paul Smith. I have a tenth grader in in Perry high. We have been in this school district for about 5 years now. It's been a daily struggle with this school system to get anything done for our special needs teen! I'm at the end of my rope with the lack of teachers in this system's ability to Do Their Job!! Every year... we have an IEP meeting to discuss our child's needs and every year... we feel like we are getting smoke blown up our butt about everything they are going to do for our child... and every year... it's the same disappointment for him and us as his parents! The teachers always say one thing and do another! And their is never any accountability for their lack of ability to follow the state-mandated IEP! And or the IEP gets rewritten and changed to benefit the teaching staffs needs rather than the child! Every year... the school administration talks a big speech about how they want to see the kids grow and be more involved and take control of their education... and every year they make it harder and harder for the struggling student who try's so hard to be successful to do so! When a student try's to get help or get the opportunity to correct the mistakes they have made on a test or quiz and they are turned away, how do you expect them to react??? This is just one small example of what we are dealing with each and every day! It's a wonder to me as a concerned parent, how you have any child actually graduate and retain any information as they are just pushed through the system to make the school's numbers look good? Or they are simply pushed to the side in the hopes that they give up and quit. This is all truth you need to not only hear, but you need to address as well for the sake of our children! Sent from my iPad Paul And Siobahn Smith.
