We moved here with a teenage daughter. The academics are very good at this school, however, the social climate is disgusting. Cliques are strong and the "pretty" girls are treated as princesses. Morals among the students are absent. Honor roll students are not given any credits whatsoever. Students in sports are also treated as exceptional. Very disappointed with the lack of friendliness shown to people and very disappointed with the students and their lack of friendliness.

As a former student of NWMS, I feel as if I have a thorough understanding of how the school was. The academics were standard to above. Every child got exactly what they needed and the teachers found it no hardship to challenge the students so the could excel. The music and art programs were phenomenal. I, myself was the in the Orchestra and all the music programs were excellent. NWMS is known for it's achievements in athletics, but I felt as a honor student I was left out of the limelight. For example, the sports teams got an assembly filled with fun and excitement where every child was called out individually, and I got to stand up during a boring assemble and have my name called for getting A Honor roll. The school is old, the facilities could be better. Whatever.
Being a middle school, the parents are less involved than in Elementary school, but I guess the PTA parents help out. I would recommend Northwest Guilford Middle school to anyone who wants a quality education and who can see past the exterior of a building.
